From rapper Fabolous to Stephen A. Smith, Knicks fans are voicing their displeasure with drafting little known Kristaps Porzingis, a 7’2” Latvian forward with tremendous potential. Porzingis could be a star in the future, but he’ll have to live in the gym and the weight room to make himself a better player. When his name was called as the Knicks selection, fans booed relentlessly. One young fan was moved to tears. As a Knicks fan, this proves how brainwashed our fan-base has become. Having drafted someone with awesome physical tools to be a legendary player, not to mention acquiring Jerian Grant and Willy Hernangomez, Knicks fans should not be disappointed. For once, the Knicks have positive momentum in terms of rebuilding a broken franchise. Carmelo Anthony reacted harshly to the Knicks draft-night decisions as well, posing the question “We have to wait three years for this guy?” Apparently, Melo is equally as impatient as the fans are. Knicks fans have been coerced into thinking that they’re always one step away from winning a title, and realistically they were never even close. Now, they have a very bright future. Young players have provided a light at the end of what has been a very dark tunnel. Knicks fans, stop being impatient, suck up a couple more years of development, and eventually the master Phil will deliver a title to this city as promised.
